Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 May 2025
This Privacy Policy describes how Bevenn ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information about you when you visit bevenn.com (the "Site") or engage with us in connection with our software engineering services.
We take your privacy seriously. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We collect only what we need to provide our services and communicate with you effectively.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly:
- Name, email address, company name, and role — when you submit a contact or discovery call form.
- Project details and business requirements — when you describe your project during an enquiry.
- Any other information you choose to include in messages or call notes.
Information collected automatically:
- IP address, browser type, operating system, and referring URL.
- Pages viewed, time spent on each page, and navigation paths (via analytics tools).
- Device identifiers and cookie data (see the Cookies section below).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your enquiry or book a discovery call.
- Prepare and send a written project summary following a discovery call.
- Communicate about project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
- Improve the Site and our marketing based on aggregate usage patterns.
- Send service updates or relevant communications (you may opt out at any time).
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
3. Legal Basis for Processing
Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or equivalent legislation applies, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:
- Contractual necessity — processing required to fulfil a service agreement or pre-contractual steps.
- Legitimate interests — operating and improving our business, responding to enquiries, and communicating about our services.
- Consent — where you have explicitly opted in to receive marketing communications.
- Legal obligation — where we are required by law to process your data.
4. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep the Site functional, and optional analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the Site. Analytics data is aggregated and does not personally identify you.
You may disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling analytics cookies does not affect your ability to use the Site.
We currently use:
- Google Analytics — page view and session analytics (anonymised IP).
- Clutch widget — third-party review widget (clutch.co). Clutch's own privacy policy applies to data collected by their widget.
5. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information with:
- Service providers — cloud hosting (Vercel, AWS), email delivery, and CRM tools, all bound by data processing agreements.
- Legal authorities — if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Bevenn or others.
- Business transfers — if Bevenn is acquired or merges with another entity, your data may transfer as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy, or as required by applicable law. Enquiry data is typically retained for up to 3 years. If a client relationship does not proceed, we will delete or anonymise your data upon request.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure — request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
- Restriction — request that we restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances.
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@bevenn.com. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Data Security
We implement technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include encrypted data transmission (TLS), access controls, and regular security reviews.
No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
9. International Transfers
Bevenn operates globally. Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your own. Where transfers occur from the European Economic Area (EEA) to countries without an adequacy decision, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent safeguards.
10. Children's Privacy
Our Site and services are directed at business professionals and are not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, we will delete it promptly.
11. Links to Third-Party Sites
Our Site may contain links to third-party websites, including Clutch, LinkedIn, and others. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the Site.
